HMP researchers welcome collaborations and contributions from researchers
interested in exploring the human microbiome. Please explore our site or visit
the NIH Common Fund
website for a complete list of projects funded as part of the HMP.
One area in which collaborations have already proven very fruitful is in the area of Reference Genome selection. A large percentage of the organisms chosen for sequencing as part of the Reference Genome collection were suggested and/or provided by collaborators with expertise in human-microbe interactions in specific body site areas. We continue to encourage and welcome feedback from the scientific community on the selection of strains to include in the Reference Genome collection. The HMP has developed guidelines for inclusion of a strain in the Reference Genome collection.
To see a complete list of Reference Genomes already selected or targeted for sequencing, visit the HMP Project Catalog.
If you have comments or suggestions regarding new strains, strains already under consideration, or strains in progress please use the feedback form located in the upper right-hand portion of the site.
